Dog Rose – Rosa canina (Potted)

Description

Dog Rose, Rosa canina, is a deciduous plant that makes a great addition to any hedge. It can easily grow up through the branches of trees to reach 2 or 3m. The leaves themselves have an amazing fragrance when rubbed. The flowers bloom from June, again they have a wonderful scent, eventually maturing into oval red/orange hips in September. The hips when ripe are used in many ways such as preserves, syrups, wine making etc. Dog Rose will grow in most soil types but not wet areas or shade, it is a sun loving plant.
