Holly, Ilex aquifolium, is a slow-growing, evergreen shrub to 8m in height, with purple stems, and neat, ovate leathery glossy dark green leaves, shallowly scalloped along the margin with short spines. Small white flowers appear in late spring, this male cultivar is a useful pollinator for female holly plants
