The season is already moving on quickly which is more than can be said for me and my newly acquired bionic hip (similarities to Sir Andy Murray end there). From command centre headquarters I can see the team lifting the remainder of our one-year old whips from propagation trays and nursery beds. Most will be sold as whips but any remaining will be planted into our field nursery to grow on for a further season. Our customers are free to buy any number of whips at a time. In the last week, orders have ranged from over 1000 young trees to one buyer for his estate and just 10 to another customer for her garden. At present, we are carefully re-composting our used compost. This is achieved by introducing fresh energy generating products such as manure and green waste from our organic farm in order to reintroduce heat into the process.
I would like to have included a picture of my small team at work but due to my crutches I’m struggling to take non-shaky in focus photos without falling flat on my face. Instead, here’s a picture of Andy Murray winning at Antwerp with his new hip. I too have high hopes for a full recovery but possibly not a fulfilling tennis career….
