Downy Birch – Betula pubescens (Bare Rooted)

Description

Downy Birch, Betula pubescens, is not quite as easily identified as the Silver Birch. In my opinion it has slightly softer leaves and definitely smoother twigs. The leaves are more rounded and a bit smaller. It is a tough little tree that will survive where others can’t. It will grow in any type of soil, it is perfectly happy in clay soils and can manage to grow in wet areas.
