Hornbeam – Carpinus Betulus (Potted)

Description

Common Hornbeam, Carpinus betulus, is a deciduous plant. It makes an extremely good hedge, I find the leaves fascinating due to their veins being prominent unlike the smooth Beech. Planted as an individual tree it makes a superb medium sized garden tree. It will grow well in most soil types but grows best in soils with high clay content.
