Description
Whitebeam, Sorbus aria, is a deciduous tree and can reach around 20m so is best for large gardens or parkland. Its leaves are unmistakable due to the underside being almost pure white, an amazing sight as the wind blows. The flowers are a lovely white colour in springtime eventually turning into speckled red berries in the autumn that the birds will feast on when other berries are gone. It is a great tree and will grow in most soil types.
